Cloud Practitioner is a breadth-first credential aimed at understanding what AWS services do and how billing and support work. SAA-C03 assumes that vocabulary and tests whether you can choose between services under constraints such as cost, latency or recovery objectives. If you have never launched an EC2 instance or configured a VPC, Cloud Practitioner gives you the language you need and takes far less preparation time. If you already work with AWS day to day, going straight to SAA-C03 saves time and money, because the associate exam covers the foundational material implicitly. The deciding question is not difficulty but scenario judgement: can you read a three-sentence requirement and identify which of four valid services fits it best?
